Did you know that February is National Wedding Month according the the Association of Bridal Consultants. Love is definitely in the air in February. Valentines, Hearts and Chocolates are everywhere. It is the one month where you are reminded over and over to stop and say ” I love you “. No wonder that it is also one of the highest engagement times of the year and the highest bridal shows. For those of us that happen to live up here in the Northeast, it is the perfect month to huddle in front of a fireplace and find the champagne, chocolates & Baileys.
I know that many of you have gotten engaged or have been engaged and now feel the need to start moving forward – Congratulations- It is still plenty of time to create a gorgeous wedding for this spring – summer – fall – or to start for 2012. I truly find that the insanity is only what you wish to make of it. I have helped brides create amazing – elaborate events of 150 in 6 weeks ( we started Memorial Day Weekend and she walked down the aisle with her bridal party of 8 on July 17th ) or I have helped couples arrange a wedding of 50 for over a year and a half.
What makes you comfortable – what the priorities are – and how the budget is playing out will often guide you. Putting a wedding together in 3 months with the right wedding consultant
is not only sometimes easier – but also the way to get the best budget and the most for your money. I often find that my last minute couples like that they do not have time to stress over every little detail – they go with their gut instincts, make their decisions and go forward. I find the end result is just as beautiful and often less stressful than the couples that spend forever on the internet with each decision. Greatest obstacles for short planning – Invitations having enough time to be ordered – sent and returned. We prefer at least 8 weeks for that and it is the one place I do not believe in complete internet communication. Sorry not only do I like paper, having those little response cards to physical count that last week when things become a little crazy but I also do not trust Spam. The other obstacle is your Gown, but I am finding more and more brides finding fabulous options and savings by buying off the rack.

So Happy Planning and if you live up here in the Northeast – go find the fireplace- the chocolates and Baileys and your sweetheart – this snow has been insane.
