Unleash Your Inner Artist at Crafty Hour
The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy hosts fun and hands-on art classes year round, but one of their most popular event series is Crafty Hour. Presented monthly, Crafty Hour is a two-hour social workshop series that allows you to relax with a cocktail and mingle with others before diving into your art. Each workshop focuses on a different medium, and registration fills up fast, so don’t delay if you’re interested in an upcoming Crafty Hour.
The next Crafty Hour with availability is “Crafty Hour: Book Binding,” which will be held on Tuesday, May 24. This event is perfect for beginners, seasoned book makers, writers, and scrap-bookers. Register today, and stay tuned as even more Crafty Hours are added to their schedule here.

Free Concerts in March, Crossgates Mall Shares Big News, and More
See What’s Going on at the Empire State Plaza
It’s been another outstanding season of ice skating in Albany, but the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink will close on Saturday, March 5, at 8:00pm. Be sure to stop by for one last skate today from 12:00pm-3:30pm or 4:30pm-8:00pm or tomorrow from 12:00pm-2:00pm, 3:00pm-5:00pm, or 6:00pm-8:00pm.
However, that’s not the only event happening at the Empire State Plaza. March is Music in Our Schools Month, and to celebrate, the Empire State Plaza will host free performances all month long by New York State music students on the South Concourse. Crossgates Mall Celebrates 38th Anniversary
Did you know Crossgates Mall is turning 38 this year? The local shopping mall opened its doors back on Sunday, March 4, 1984, which makes today its 38th birthday! To celebrate, Crossgates will give away a $380 shopping spree to various retailers, restaurants, and entertainment venues. To enter, all you have to do is like their Facebook post, tell them your favorite store, restaurant, or entertainment venue at Crossgates, and then share the post. The winner will be randomly selected on Monday, March 7, and you can also participate in this giveaway on their Instagram account.
Mr. D’s Restaurant Hosts Grand Opening Celebration
After about 10 months of renovations, Mr. D’s Restaurant & Lounge at Crowne Plaza Albany – The Desmond Hotel has kicked off its official grand opening celebration. From now through March 31, they are offering customers a 15% discount off their bill if they mention the restaurant’s ongoing celebration to their server. This offer is valid for both dine-in and takeout, so check out Mr. D’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
