Albany residents know

having the top tap water in the country!
The city of Albany is no stranger to the “best tasting water in New York”
contests, having taken top honors twice since 2007. Now we’re headed to
the big show, the Nationwide competition. 77 entries were narrowed down
to the top 5 last week, and Albany made the list!
The New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY holds a tap water contest every year, and Albany took the title last year, as well as in 2007. Now we are headed to the final, the “best tasting City water in America” competition in Baltimore to compete against Rochester NY, Denton TX, Racine WI, and Pembroke Pines, FL.
Originating in the Alcove Reservoir in the Town of Coeymans, Albany’s tap water is purified in Feura Bush before gravity takes it into Albany. Albany produces the best tasting water in New York State, at a lower cost than most Capital Region municipalities.
