December marks the bicentennial of the world-famous poem Twas The Night Before Christmas and Pamela McColl is at various locations in Albany, Troy and Saratoga Springs at events designed to celebrate the poem. The poem was first published in the Troy Sentinel for December 23, 1823 and Troy is also celebrating with events featuring the books of Pamela at both the Troy Library on December 2 3-5 PM, at the Arts Center December 3, and the Hart Cluett Green Show November 29-December 3. On December 23 the Troy Library will be hosting a public event to celebrate the poem from 11-2 p.m. McColl is visiting the surrounding bookstores and is on a national six state book tour with hundreds of events planned both in person and online.
