The New York State Emergency Medical Services Memorial is located at the north end of the Empire State Plaza. It honors those from the NYS EMS who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The memorial features a large granite tablet with a "Tree of Life" engraved on its surface. The leaves on the tree are shaped like the "Star of Life" - the national symbol of the Emergency Medical Services. Each leaf holds the names, organization and date of the fallen member.
