2018 Tulip Dig and Sale
About the Tulip Dig & Sale
The event kicks off on Saturday at the Park's iconic Moses Fountain at 9am. Volunteers will join City of Albany Gardener Jess Morgan, City of Albany Department of General Services staff and members of the Washington Park Conservancy for the annual ritual of digging up the city's iconic tulip bulbs.
Participation in the event provides volunteers with the opportunity to purchase 30 bulbs for $5 in exchange for assistance in preparing the park's beds for the summer season. The remaining bulbs will be sold first come, first serve to the general public on Sunday at the Park's Lakehouse beginning at 9am for the same price and quantity.
Dates, Times & Details
Saturday, May 26th, 9am to 12pm at Moses Fountain
The cost is $5 per bag with a 5 bag limit. Bring a garden fork. No shovels or rakes, please. Digging is limited to designated beds only, and is only allowed on Saturday until noon.
Sunday, May 27th, 9am until sold out at the Lake House
The cost is $5 per bag of 30 with a 2 bag limit. First come, first serve until the bulbs are sold out.
Pro tip: The bulbs go extremely quickly on Sunday, so be there at the start if you're planning on attending that day.
