• Jazz On Jay :: Every Thursday afternoon the public is welcome to head to Jay Street in downtown Schenectady to enjoy a free jazz concert. The concert runs from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm and features a number of different performers throughout the summer months. It is a great opportunity on your lunch break to enjoy some mid-day jazz.


• Belleayre Music Festival :: The Belleayre Summer Music Festival kicks off in July lasting through September. They offer a wide range of touring concerts from jazz to classical, to country and rock. Ticket prices start around $25 and up.


• Alive At Five :: If you didn't catch enough music at lunch, head to Riverfront Park in downtown Troy on Thursday evenings in the summer for one of Albany's most popular events of the year: Alive at Five. It is Albany's free summer concert series bringing in top artists to perform each week. The evening consists of music, food, ice-cold beer for those hot summer nights, and of course dancing! • Albany Jazz Festival :: The Albany Jazz Festival is an all-American tradition running annually in Riverfront Park at the Corning Preserve. The afternoon is full of performances by highly acclaimed jazz artists and is one to look forward to for jazz fans, especially because it is free!


• Summer Carillon Concert Series :: Professional carillonneurs from around the world come to play this extraordinary instrument in Academy Park (across from City Hall in Albany) during the summer. It is a free concert starting at 1pm and is held during the summer. See the list of dates here.


• Rockin On The River :: A fun, lively, outdoor concert series in downtown Troy NY that lasts for 10 weeks during the summer months. Come rock on the river every Wednesday night from 5 pm to 8:30 pm for free!

Head Up North To Some FREE Summer Music Events:

• The Common :: The Common in Clifton Park offers free performances two nights a week during the summer. Wednesday nights are children's nights featuring various performances that the kids will enjoy and Sunday nights are for everyone!


• Shepard Park in Lake George :: Almost every day of the week you can head up north to Lake George and find free concerts in Shepard's Park during the summer evenings. See the line-up!
