You go on vacation and you expect to lose your routine – workout, food, sleep, etc. Everything gets thrown up in the air. Instead of getting frustrated, be inventive. How can you see or experience a new city in a different way? Wake up and take a jog, find a nearby hike, take some laps or even just play in the pool, take a walking tour – there are many to download from TripAdvisor – bottom line, work in working out, be creative!
Our family recently took a journey through Yellowstone National Park. It was a lot of time spent in the car sitting down – something we’re not used to (my husband and I both have standing desks at work!) We hiked, we explored new towns, I did some of my beloved self-guided jogging tours (I’m addicted to running in new cities). Overall, we found a way to maintain our active lifestyle even though we weren’t in our routine – disclaimer – we do have a one and a half year old, so our lifestyle, no matter where we are, is usually very active.
What have you done on your vacations to maintain your activity level?
