A Phoenix Rising
Nearly four years ago, the building that housed The Albany Damien Center for 15 years, providing services for local-area people living with HIV/AIDS, was destroyed in a devastating fire. Within weeks of the fire, a dedicated group of well-known local performers put together an evening of musical performances as a fundraiser called Out of the Ashes. Now, four years later, that same committed group of performers as well as many other top area talents are coming together again in celebration of the Damien Center’s journey from the fire to the construction of our new Damien Center, opening in November 2017.
Philanthropist, entrepreneur, and Capital Region native Norman Rea returns to his hometown to present an evening of music and celebration featuring:
Maria Riccio Bryce- Musical Director
Don Paul Shannon
The Albany Gay Mens Chorus
& More to come!
Please join us in supporting the Damien Center in celebration of our journey out of the ashes made possible with our community’s support to realize a true phoenix rising of the NEW Albany Damien Center building that will house our agency programs and include 20 permanent residences for 22 homeless persons living with HIV/AIDS.
