One of my favorite concerts was in the summer of 2004 when I saw Sarah McLachlan. Not only was Sarah amazing, but her opening act Butterfly Boucher took the house down. Many of her songs from her CD still are regulars on my playlist.
One of my favorite songs from Butterfly is Another White Dash. Some of the lyrics particularly hit home when it comes to how you manage your time.
“There is something exciting about leaving everything behind
There is something deep and pulling leaving everything behind
Something about having everything you think you’ll ever need
Sitting in the seat next to you”
Often, when I am on business trips, having a notepad, pen, a couple bottles of water, and my iPhone is all I need to stay in touch with everyone I need to while I am away.
Leaving everything behind, traveling light and keeping those close to you within an arm’s reach can make things a lot easier on the road.
