Workshop: HR Issues that Impact Businesses

We will address important human resources issues which every business owner must understand. This Workshop Will Cover the Following: Rose Miller will provide information and tips on several compliance issues such as: using subcontractors versus employees; using students versus interns; and important changes in the Fair Labor Standards Act. In addition, she will demonstrate Best Practices crafting policies to strengthen business. Rose will share her experiences and describe situations where businesses have increased risks due to the absences of policies and non-compliance of fundamental employment laws. She will give practical advice on how the use of well-crafted policies and procedures can reduce those risks. Level: This is an introductory-level, human resources workshop.
