I read Rudy Giuliani’s book Leadership in grad school and I learned how important it is to stop the “petty crimes” which generally are done by people who are responsible for the bigger crimes.
Similarly, at the workplace, we need to nip in the bud the smallest of aberrant behaviors if we wish to have a civilized workforce.
Here are some things you need to nip in the bud at your business:
1. Negative self-talk
2. Slow paced conversations and movement
3. Poor eye contact
4. Gossip
5. Whispering
6. Ducking and ditching responsibility
7. Poor posture
If you can eliminate these, and others from your workplace, you will solve the bigger problems of turnover, lack of productivity, lost sales and poor customer service scores.
