Cast your vote for the best local chowder after tasting your share of 3-ounce, $1 samples from about 30 area restaurants. These restaurants must use local ingredients in their chowder in order to participate, so you will enjoy farm-fresh chowder at Troy’s Chowderfest!
Country singer Jimmy Wayne highlights the day’s entertainment schedule, set to perform in the Green Island Bridge parking lot at 5:00 pm. Wayne’s popular hit “Do You Believe Me Now” is currently number 4 on Billboard’s Country Singles Chart.
Chowderfest will take place along River Street in Troy near the Green Island Bridge. The event begins at 11:00 in the morning and concludes with the Jimmy Wayne concert in the evening. There will be $2500 in prize money with over 5,000 people expected to attend. The event is sponsored by the City of Troy as well as many local restaurants and businesses throughout the Capital Region.
