Over the Edge is a unique opportunity for individuals to rappel off Hotel Albany (formerly Crowne Plaza) in Downtown Albany, NY while raising much needed funds for the athletes of Special Olympics New York!

Last year this event brought in more than $70,000 for Special Olympics and provided unprecedented media exposure in every local outlet. Hundreds of spectators attended and watched as participants made their way down.

Whether you just want to watch or you are brave enough to go "Over the Edge," this is an event you will not want to miss!

Want To Watch?

There is no charge to come spectate as thrill-seekers go "Over The Edge" off the side of the Crowne Plaza and rappel down at their own pace (that is, if they don't chicken out!)

There will be live music and plenty of great entertainment!  See details below, and become a fan of this event on Facebook to show your support and get updates!

PLUS activities going on all day long, including:

  • The Capital Region’s most talented musicians will play live on the Palace Theatre Outdoor Stage
  • Over the Edge photo booth - Participants and spectators will have the opportunity to purchase a high quality branded 'I Survived' photo of each rappeller – courtesy of Upstate Photographers
  • Keeler Motor Car Co. will have a vehicle on site that day for all to check out!
  • Over the Edge Raffle – Tickets can be purchased for a chance to win great prizes, including:
  • T-shirts and merchandise available for purchase all day for just $10 each!
  • Albany All Stars Roller Derby gals will be on site all day hyping up the crowd.
