It’s never too early to prepare for the Halloween season, and as the Capital Region adjusts to the new normal, Ellms Family Farm has announced the return of the Pumpkin Glow & Light Show Drive-Thru, their socially-distant fall event. Perfect for families and people of all ages, this one-of-a-kind Halloween experience begins in October and can be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of your own car.
Celebrate the Halloween Season an All New Way
Located in Ballston Spa, Ellms Family Farm is most popularly known for their traditional fall activities like corn mazes, pumpkin picking, and other kid-friendly barnyard fun. This year, in addition to those daytime attractions, the local farm will host a Pumpkin Glow & Light Show Drive-Thru event from October 1 – 31, 2021.
The Halloween experience will feature a dazzling pumpkin wonderland filled with thousands of hand-carved and illuminated jack-o’-lanterns. Ellms Family Farm has partnered with master carvers who are creating everything from the single pumpkin carvings to the larger-than-life masterpieces.
As you drive along the enchanting 1.25-mile route and marvel at the pumpkins and lights, you and your family will get into the Halloween spirit.
Enjoy Your Favorite Fall Treats During the Drive
Who can resist the sweet smell of apple cider doughnuts? Not only are they one of the most tempting fall treats, but you can enjoy a fresh batch during your time at the Pumpkin Glow & Light Show Drive-Thru.
Ellms Family Farm is offering three packages for guests to choose from, each varying in price. The Basic Package includes Drive-Thru admission for one carload, the Donut Package includes admission for one carload and a dozen doughnuts, and the Family Package includes admission for one carload, a dozen doughnuts, a gallon of cider, and kettle corn.
If you pick one of the packages with fall treats, Ellms’ Farm Team will provide them to you upon arrival so you can feast on your goodies throughout the attraction.

According to Garth Ellms, third generation farmer and owner of Ellms Family Farm, “Our priority is to be able to provide great events for people to be able to enjoy, while exceeding CDC guidelines and keeping everyone safe.” This year, the drive-thru option is offered in addition to the wide variety of on-site fall activities for kids.
The Pumpkin Glow & Light Show Drive-Thru is a wonderful event for families, couples, and young adults alike, and to maintain social distancing, the whole experience can be enjoyed from inside your vehicle. Tickets are available for purchase now, and they are expected to sell fast! The Pumpkin Glow & Light Show Drive-Thru will be held on Thursdays through Saturdays throughout October 2021, plus two Sundays, October 10 and 31. Time slots are in 15-minute intervals, starting at 7pm on October 1 and 2; 6:45pm October 7, 8, 9, and 10; 6:30pm October 14, 15, and 16; and 6:15pm October 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, and 31.
When you buy your ticket, you will select one of the open time slots on the day you’re planning to visit. Prices range from $26.99 for the Basic Package (one carload) to $56.99 for the Family Package.
