We got the chance to sit down with owner, April Kern, and ask her our 10 questions regarding her new business.
What has been the most exciting thing about opening your new business?
Having the opportunity to offer a pathway to wellness through convenient, professional and affordable therapeutic massage. Feeling extremely happy to view the clients’ reactions to the passion of our talented massage therapists. It is a great feeling to offer wellness plans that include skin benefits as well as relaxation and stress relief for our local residents.
Why did you choose Schenectady?
I chose Schenectady because as Regional Developers of Massage Envy we saw a need for Massage and Spa services. We wanted to offer “a place where everyday people could go to relax, rejuvenate and restore” with professional staff, affordable prices and convenient hours. Since Schenectady County is a center for the arts and home to legendary Proctors Theatre and just minutes from New York’s Capital in Albany, we felt this would be an ideal location for the local residents to unwind and relax after a busy and eventful day.

I just received an hour and half massage, followed by a Vitamin C facial yesterday. I practice what I preach and have experienced the healing benefits of receiving regular massage. I generally try to get weekly massages and twice a month facials.
