About this event
A workshop for ages 16+ who are curious about the art of puppetry. Step into a world where the soft, the strange, the edgy, and the wonderfully impossible come alive. You’ll discover the magic of giving breath and intention to the inanimate, from humanoids and animals to a drifting ghost, a geometric shape, or even a living color. Through hands-on exploration, you’ll learn the essential principles of puppetry (focus, weight, breath, rhythm, and teamwork) as you create and animate characters, craft simple narratives, and begin building miniature universes with your own hands.
Led by Wakka Wakka’s Kirjan Waage and Gwendolyn Warnock. Free, but RSVP is essential to attend. RSVP at https://62centerfortheatreanddance.artsvp.com/a7be64. For questions, call the ‘62 Center box office at 413-597-2425. This workshop is offered in conjunction with Wakka Wakka’s MainStage performance of Dead as a Dodo the following day.
