Tri-City ValleyCats Bobblehead Contest

Tri-City ValleyCats LogoEveryone has been talking about it lately. It's a new kind of March Madness. It's the ultimate popularity contest. It's the first-ever Media Bobblehead Bracket Buster Tournament! This Tri-City ValleyCats promotion has Capital Region residents voting up a storm.

Here's how it works:

There are 18 participants -- all prominent media personalities of the Capital Region from television, radio, and print media. All participants were drawn into a March Madness style bracket, having been randomly assigned their first-round match ups.

Each participant represents a charity of their choice, which will receive a $600 donation if their participant wins or a $100 donation if their particpant makes the Final Four.

But that's not all! The winner's likeness will also be immortalized as a hand-carved, hand-painted ceramic bobblehead doll! 1200 of these dolls will be created and distributed prior to the ValleyCats game on Sunday, August 22, 2010.

And then there's the voting... Fans of each media personality vote online at www.bobblevote.com. There are also links set up on tcvalleycats.com as well as Facebook and Twitter. Or you can vote by calling the Tri-City ValleyCats offices at 518-629-2287 (just mention you want to cast a vote in the Bobblection).

Four rounds of voting, each a week long, are scheduled as follows:

  • Round of 18: Monday March 15th - Sunday March 21st
  • Round of 8: Monday March 22nd - Sunday March 28th
  • Round of 4: Monday March 29th - Sunday April 4th
