Have you been out ice skating yet this year? With the mild temperatures lately, you may not be out on your local pond having fun or working on your hockey-stops yet.
Don’t wait until the lakes and ponds freeze to start skating, head down to the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink! The rink is open every day until March!
The hours at the rink will be 11:00AM – 8:00PM everyday through early March, with an hour of maintenance scheduled from 3:00PM – 4:00PM everyday.
It is FREE to skate for as long as you want, and skates will be available for rental while the rink is open. Skate rentals will cost you $3 per child under 12, and $4 for everybody else. The rink also offers a full-service snack bar, a lounge with lockers for personal items, and music.
I grew up ice skating and playing pond hockey, and it’s a great time! Bring the kids down to The Plaza and for a few bucks (if you don’t own skates) you can skate all afternoon then warm up with a cup of hot chocolate!
