The State of New York Police Officers Memorial honors the state's police officers, and serves as a site of solitude and reflection for those who visit.
It is located behind the Legislative Office Building and the Swan Street Building, and was erected in 1989. The memorial is 100 feet long and 10 feet high, composed of curved, polished granite. The names of deceased officers are inscribed on ten panels. A waterfall at the top of the memorial flows into a small pool and a single linden tree stands nearby.
