About this event
ALBANY, N.Y. - Musicians of Ma’alwyck presents A Fashionable Assembly: Masterworks of
the 18th Century Drawing Room on Sunday, November 8, 2026, with performances at 2
p.m. and 4 p.m. at Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site in Albany. Tickets are $40.
Reservations and information are available at musiciansofmaalwyck.org.
Inspired by the musical life of eighteenth-century London, the program explores a period
when instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers from across Europe brought their talents
to enthusiastic English audiences. The historic setting of Schuyler Mansion provides an
evocative backdrop for music associated with the drawing room and the intimate pleasures
of chamber performance.
The performers are Norman Thibodeau, flute; Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, violin; Sten
Isachsen, guitar; and Max Caplan, keyboard.
The program includes Pedro Avondano’s Sonata for Flute, Violin and continuo in D Major;
Tommaso Giordani’s Duetto for Flute and Violin in D Major; Domenico Corri’s Sonata Terza
for Flute, Violin & Keyboard in D major; Charles-François Pollet’s Sonate Accompagné
Obligé in D Major; and George Frideric Handel’s Seventh Suite in G minor, HWV 432. The
complete program follows this release.
Now in its 27th season, Musicians of Ma’alwyck is a professional chamber ensemble in
residence at Schuyler Mansion New York State Historic Site and SUNY Schenectady.
Guided by its mission of “Bringing history to life through music,” the ensemble connects
audiences with the people, places, and stories behind the music it performs.
