TROY, NY- King Street in Troy, NY,
has been full of practically vacant buildings for quite some time. The street seems dilapidated compared to many
of the vibrant neighboring streets, but city officials are saying King Street has a brighter future with the
potential opening of a new Bombers Burrito Bar.
The Burrito Bar will be located at the intersection of Troy’s King Street and Federal Street
which is a convenient location despite how quiet the street is. Bombers Burrito Bar will be in sight of the Green Island
Bridge, a key entryway
into the city. The new location is also
close to River Street,
which is known for its bustling restaurants and bars.
This will be the third Bombers Burrito Bar location in the
area. Unlike the first two locations (in Albany
and Schenectady) the Troy
location will be a franchise owned by siblings Tami Dzembo and Glen Young.
The new owners believe that Bombers has the potential to act
as a catalyst, rejuvenating King
Street and creating an opportunity for other
business to open. The creation of the
new franchise is a sign of hope for business growth in the area. Young and
Dzembo hope to begin construction this summer and have their Burrito Bar opened
in the fall.
As a franchise, the newest Burrito Bar will be extremely
similar to the two currently open. You’ll be able to enjoy nachos, wings and of course burritos, at the new
spot. And although there’s no word yet
on whether the new owners will continue the Wednesday night karaoke special,
this Troy franchise looks like a great addition to Troy
restaurant scene.
What do you think? Can Bombers Burrito Bar turn King Street around?
Will you be headed to this new restaurant when it opens?
