Well Albany, we’ve scored some impressive accolades in the past such as being home to a number one nationally ranked hospital, being one of the smartest cities in the country and one of the happiest cities in New York. However, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of business friendliness in Albany.
When it comes to business friendliness, Albany was ranked 53rd in the nation in a report conducted by MarketWatch.com.
What were the rankings based on? Business climate, company performance and economic outcome were the categories that were scored to receive a ranking. Albany scored a 466 out of 800 in business climate, 335 out of 800 in company performanceand 383 out of 750 in economic outcome.
Albany fell short to Buffalo, ranked 42nd and Rochester, ranked 45th. The only other upstate New York city in the rankings was Syracuse at 72nd.
