New Seafood Restaurant Coming to the Starbuck Island Community
A new seafood-focused restaurant named Sea Smoke Waterfront Grill is expected to open later this fall on the southern half of Center Island, which is located in the Hudson River between Green Island and Troy. According to the Times Union, the restaurant will specialize in Mediterranean-inspired seafood, pizza, pasta, and a mix of classic dishes and innovative entrees. The Sea Smoke Waterfront Grill will be able to seat 100 guests indoors and 70 outdoors.
Arts Center of the Capital Region Accepting Submissions for the Fence Show
If you’ve ever wanted to showcase your artwork in a gallery exhibition, then now is your chance. The Arts Center of the Capital Region has announced that they are accepting submissions for their annual Fence Show, which pays homage to a time when members’ artwork was exhibited on the iron fence surrounding Washington Park.
For the Fence Show 2021, anyone with an active membership to the Arts Center is eligible to submit their artwork, whether it’s a painting, photo, sculpture, stained glass, or even non-traditional media. The theme is “Art is Essential,” and the Arts Center encourages new and committed member artists to showcase work created during the pandemic.
NY Yankees Playoff Legend Tino Martinez to Appear at Saturday’s Tri-City ValleyCats Game
In a recent press release, the Tri-City ValleyCats revealed that New York Yankees playoff legend Tino Martinez will be in town for his induction into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame, and during the ValleyCats’ home game on Saturday, August 14, Martinez will throw the first pitch. The team looks forward to welcoming Martinez to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium when they take on the visiting Sussex County Miners. Get your tickets to the game >>
